French Angel
Found in the tropical Atlantic, the Pomacanthus paru is better known as the French Angelfish. In the wild, the French Angel can grow to an impressive 15" in length. Very small juveniles are sometimes hard to acclimate to captive conditions. Otherwise this Angel is a hardy specimen that will eat a varied diet of vegetable and meaty foods. The juvenile coloration is sometimes mistaken for their duller colored cousin, the Pomacanthus arcuatus the Grey Angelfish. The adult coloration has golden edged scaling on a dark background. This is not a "reef safe" Angelfish. Adults can become rather bossy and like most Angels, the French Angel should be kept singly.
