Freckled Hawkfish
Freckled Hawkfish, Paracirrhites forsteri, also known as Forester's Hawkfish is found in the Indo-Pacific Ocean. One of the larger Hawkfish, it can obtain a length of 8 to 9 inches and should therefore be housed in an aquarium of at least 75 gallons. While safe to corals, because of its predatory nature it will eat small shrimp, crabs, snails and fish. It is best suited for a fish only tank with larger tankmates who can with stand a bully. A very hardy aquarium fish, it will adapt to a diet of meat based prepared foods. It is best kept singly unless you have a pair. Living up to its name, it has a freckling of red/black spots over the face.
