Fox Coral
Fox Coral, Nemanzophyllia turbida, is a distinctive, colorful, easy-care coral that is great aquarists of all experience levels. Also known as Jasmine or Ridge Coral, it inflates displaying small “pillows” along the delicate, thin walls of its calcareous frame. These walls are extremely thin, so care must be used in its placement. The skeleton resembles long rows of these leaves. The expansion of the coral occurs from between each set of leaves. It is less aggressive than many other corals because of its lack of sweeper tentacles. Placement should be in the lower portions of the aquarium and water flow should be low to medium levels. Lighting should be at a medium level. It will definitely benefit from occasional target feedings of plankton or brine shrimp, as well as foods designed for filter feeders such as Marine Snow or Phyto-Plex. Calcium and strontium will help ensure its continued health.
