Forktail Blenny
Forktail Blenny, Meiacanthus atrodorsalis, is a colorful, active, reef-safe aquarium fish. A fish of Western Pacific origins, is commonly seen throughout the Phillipines and south to the Great Barrier Reef. This animated, relatively hardy character grows to a maximum length around 4.5 inches. Its size makes it perfect for large and for small aquariums. Forktail Blennies do best one per aquarium, unless a great deal of space and Live Rock is provided. Also known as the Lyretail Fang Blenny, it is considered to be venomous by some and simply painful by others. Regardless, fingers should be kept clear, as they may be attacked. It is an omnivore that will eagerly accept a variety of foods including Brine Shrimp, bloodworms, and spirulina. Flake foods are accepted fairly readily.
