Florida Kingsnake
Florida Kingsnakes (Lampropeltis getulus floridana) are native to the woodlands, marshes & estuaries of Florida. They eat a wide variety of preys including snakes, lizards, amphibians, birds and rodents. Kingsnakes are well known for their tail rattling behaviors and their ability to consume Rattlesnakes. These snakes come in a variety of different color patterns and have become one of the most commonly kept snakes in captivity. Because they consider other snakes as possible prey, they should be housed singly.
