Flame Pseudochromis
Flame Pseudochromis, Ogilbyina novaehollandiae, is an Australian native that displays a great deal of color diversity between specimens. This attractive fish that will enjoy Live Rock and a great deal of crevices from which it can swim then retreat to. Hardy and reef-safe, if more than one is to be present in the same aquarium, it is recommended to introduce them at the same time and allow them plenty of space each, as they can be territorial among their own family. The Flame Pseudochromis may bother smaller ornamental Shrimp that are introduced after it has become established. The body coloring ranges from orange to pink to yellow. The commonality of color is the red “flame spot” at the rear of the body. As a carnivore, it readily accepts meaty meals including Live Brine, bloodworms, and frozen prepared foods.
