Flame Hawkfish
One of the most popular Hawkfish, the Neocirrhites armatus or Flame Hawkfish is found in the Western and South Pacific. Growing to a length of 3-4 inches, it should be housed in an aquarium of at least 20 gallons. It will not bother corals, and is even thought to help facilitate water movement among the coral heads. It will eat smaller shrimp and snails, so it should be introduced to a reef aquarium with caution. It will typically tolerate other Hawkfish. It will adapt to meaty based diets and quickly learn to give its owner "the eye" for more food.
