Flame Cardinalfish
Flame Cardinalfish, Apogon maculatus, is a hardy, colorful fish that will spend much of its time peering out from around rocks and under overhangs. Also known as the Flamefish, it is best kept one-per-aquarium, unless plenty of space and Live Rock is provided. If adding multiple specimens, it is important to add them simultaneously to prevent established fish from picking on newcomers. With its maximum size of around three inches, it is a great size for smaller aquariums, but would typically be intolerant of other members of its genus. Some specimens may choose to harm very small shrimp. It will accept a variety of foods including Brine Shrimp and bloodworms, and will typically accept flake food fairly easily.
