The male version of this guppy is small in size approximately 0.5 to 1.5 inches and displays a fancy tail fin. The guppy was bred as a show fish, but before being bred in captivity they originated in Guyana, Venezuela, and Barbados. These Livebearers are easy keepers for the beginning aquarist because they are hardy, peaceful, community safe fish. They are same species compatible. However, you do need to watch inter-species mixing. Do not mix them with “fin nippers”. The ideal living conditions for the Multi-Color Guppy is a ten gallon tank with a temperature range of 75 - 85º F.
