Favia Brain Coral
Favia Coral, Favia fragum, is known by an assortment of common names including Honeycomb, Moon, Pineapple, or Worm Coral, or Favites Brain. It is found in a wide variety of colorations from duller flesh-tones to bright orange-yellows. Its tentacles can extend to a distance approximately equal to the diameter of the corals main body. Because of this, it must be placed a safe distance from other corals. Requiring a medium water flow, it is perfectly content resting on the bottom of the home aquarium. As with most other members of Large Polyp Stonys, maintaining a proper calcium level is an important key to successful development. It will definitely benefit from occasional target feedings of plankton or brine shrimp.
