This fish is peaceful and not very active, it spends most of its time trying to look like a stick in the water to protect itself from potential predators. The Farlowella is sensitive to water quality, so only fish keepers who are great with keeping up on water changes should try this fish. In addition the diet for this fish can be a bit demanding, as it prefers green algae so feeding dried seaweed sheets and fresh sliced cucumber is recommended. Blanched romaine lettuce can also be used for additional greens.
