Falco Hawkfish
Falco Hawkfish, Cirrhitichthys falco, is a dashing and durable aquarium fish that is great for aquarists of all experience levels. Also known as the Dwarf Hawkfish, it is a less of a threat to invertebrates than other Hawkfish because of its maximum size of less than three inches. It is an attractively colored fish with wide swatches of white and peach banding mottled with darker red spots on the forehead and along the dorsal region. It will typically rest on the bottom and on rock perches, but can move in quick, short bursts when feeding time comes. As some individuals may be somewhat aggressive to smaller and more timid Gobies and Fairy Wrasses, it is best introduced simultaneously or following the calmer introductees. The Falco Hawk readily adapts to a diet of frozen or live shrimp such as Mysid or Brine, but does require frequent feeding to ensure best health.
