Electric Blue Lobster
The Electric Blue Lobster, Procambarus paeninsulanis, is a unique addition to your aquarium because of its’ blue/green coloration! This lobster originates from Northern Queensland and the Northern Territory of Australia. The Electric Blue is best suited for the intermediate aquarist due to the fact that it is very aggressive. Since it is so aggressive it is neither inter-species compatible nor community aquarium safe. This lobster will grow to a length of 2-8 inches (20 cm) as an adult. You will want a 20 gallon tank to house your lobster, with a temperature range of 65-75º F. When it comes to feeding he is a hardy species since he is an opportunistic omnivore. In regards to sexing this species: the adult male has a distinctive red patch on his claws and the female does not display this marking.
