This is a variant of the standard Jack Dempsey Cichlid, and when reaching adult color the fish is stunningly beautiful. This is a naturally occurring strain of the Jack Dempsey, and is not artificially colored or hybridized with other fish to get the color. This color is very rare in a Jack Dempsey, and the blue fry can not be produced by breeding two blue parents. Bloodworms, beef heart, and even earthworms are all devoured quickly by this fish.
