While this Dwarf Blackfoot Lionfish can reach up to 9 inches in the wild, the majority are closer to 4 inches when mature. This species as elongated caudal rays and shorten fins giving it a more compact look than the standard Pterois species. As with all Lionfish, the spines are venomous and care should be taken when acclimating and when performing maintenance on their aquarium. They will eat smaller fish and shrimp. They may adapt to prepared meaty foods like Krill, Silversides and bits of fish.
