Desjardini Sailfin Tang
The very desirable Zebrasoma desjardini or Red Sea Sailfin Tang has a great demeanor and adds tremendous beauty to the home aquarium. An attractive, active swimming fish, it requires open space and hiding caves in the rocks. One of the more mellow of the Tangs, it may not tolerate any of the same species in the tank (Purple, Sailfin, or Yellow Tang.) It should be fed a vegetable-based prepared food and fresh zucchini, broccoli and spirulina. It is even reported to eat filamentous algae and bubble algae in the aquarium. Like all Tangs, it should be quarantined before adding to a display aquarium.
