Christmas Tree Soft Coral
Christmas Tree Coral, Studeriotes sp., is a quite unique, easy-care coral that is interesting to observe as it closes and expands throughout the day. Often arriving as a small, round ball with no resemblance to its opened state, it will stretch its tentacles and sweep for food moving past its arms in the current. Also known as the French Tickler or Medusa Coral, it does best resting on the substrate of the aquarium in more shadowed regions, if the aquarium is brightly lit. It should be given plenty of room, given the variance in size from its compressed form to its full extension. Christmas Tree Coral will thrive best with feedings of any supplement designed for filter feeders. Iodine and strontium will help ensure its continued health.
