The Cherry Red shrimp are an amazing addition to peaceful freshwater aquariums, particularly to a tank with live plants. While live plants are not required for these fish to live, they will develop the best color and size in a heavily planted tank. Young shrimp, or shrimp undergoing stress will often be nearly completely clear and will take time to develop their red color so upon arrival they may not be red or have very much red to them. These shrimp are fantastic as scavengers in the aquarium, and they are also well known as being excellent to eat algae in a freshwater aquarium. This comes in particularly handy for live planted aquariums, as the shrimp will help keep plant leaves clean and healthy. These shrimp are omnivores and will eat whatever food they can find in the aquarium, in addition to grazing on any algae if it is present in the tank.
Approximate arrival size for Cherry Red Shrimp: .25 to .5 inch
