Captive Bred Mexican Black Kingsnake
Mexican Black Kingsnakes (Lampropeltis getulus nigritis) are found in the deserts and scrublands of Southern Arizona, Western Sonora, Northwestern Sinaloa, and Mexico. They eat a wide variety of preys including snakes, lizards, amphibians, birds, and rodents. Kingsnakes are well known for their tail rattling behaviors and their ability to consume Rattlesnakes. Kingsnakes have become one of the most commonly kept snakes in captivity. Because they consider other snakes as possible prey, they should be housed singly.
