Canary Blenny
Canary Blenny, Meiacanthus ovalanensis, is a brilliantly colored, reef-safe aquarium fish. A fish of Western Pacific origins, the Canary Blenny is commonly seen throughout the Fiji Islands. This animated, relatively hardy and colorful character grows to a maximum length around 4.5 inches. Its size makes it perfect for large and for small aquariums. Canary Blennies do best one per aquarium, unless a great deal of space and Live Rock is provided. The Canary Blenny displays little if any aggression toward other fish, corals, or invertebrates. Also known as the Yellow Fang Blenny, it is considered to be venomous by some and simply painful by others. Regardless, fingers should be kept clear, as they may be attacked. It is an omnivore that will eagerly accept a variety of foods including Brine Shrimp, bloodworms, and spirulina. Flake foods are accepted fairly readily.
