Triggerfish for Saltwater Aquariums
Triggerfish get their names from their dorsal "trigger" fins. These fins are locked in place when the fish wedge themselves into rocks to hide from predators and are very difficult to extract. At home, they may wedge themselves into a rock if they do not feel safe. They will come out on their own, as they are not stuck. Triggers are known to catch crabs and shrimp with their sharp teeth and powerful jaws, so they should generally be kept in fish only aquariums.
