Captive Bred Leopard Geckos are nocturnal lizards native to the dry, rocky, semi-open habitats of Afghanistan, India, Iran, and Pakistan. They become active at dusk when they emerge from their burrows to feed. The Captive Bred Leopard Gecko’s attractive appearance, combined with its good temperament and ease of care, make it an excellent pet. Wide spread captive breeding has led to an increasing number of interesting color mutations available. These lizards can be housed in groups with only one male per group. Maximum size: 9" Lighting: Specialized reptile lights for viewing nocturnal animals would be a good choice. Temperature range: Day 82° - 90°F, Night 75° - 80°F Food: Crickets, waxworms and mealworms coated in calcium and vitamin powder. We recommend feeding in a separate container without substrate to prevent accidental ingestion of the substrate. Water: A shallow dish of clean water should always be available. Housing/Habitat: An aquarium equipped with an under tank heating pad and a calci-sand or desert mix substrate. Landscape to simulate dry, rocky regions with plenty of hiding places. It is important to mist the substrate beneath the hiding places to provide some humidity.
