The Red Wag Moon Platy, a livebearing species, possesses traits that are very well suited for the aquarists of all experience levels because of its hardiness and peacefulness. The Red Wag Moon Platy Platy can be found in many sheer, bright colors and will retain its small body size. Female Platys can grow to 3 inches in length with males a bit smaller. When male and female are coupled, the Red Wag Moon Platy Platy can and will produce broods of young on an average of once a month. This time can be shorter or longer, depending mainly upon temperature. These fish are best kept in trios. This will keep the male from exhausting the female.
