A hardy, enthusiastic eater who will adapt to about any aquarium condition. Growing to a maximum size around 5 inches, Also known as the Three-spot Gourami, its blue body contains two darker spots evenly spaced with the eye of the fish being a third "spot." Typical of members of the Gourami family, its preferences are toward warmer water (80 degrees should be fine) and a varied diet. A mixture of dried, frozen, and live foods help the Blue Gourami to maintain its finest potential coloration. The Blue Gourami may occasionally be feisty with members of its own species and with substantially smaller fish, but is generally peaceful to other aquarium citizens.
