Diet: Dry dog food or lab chow, dark leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables. They are a scavenger and their food should not be changed daily. Supply fresh food when theirs is rotten.
Lighting Requirements: No specialized lighting required.
Recommended Habitat Size: They should be housed in a humid tropical terrarium with an under tank heating pad at one end. They can easily climb the sides of the terrarium so a secure lid is necessary. A thin layer of Vaseline spread on the top two inches of the enclosure will help
Hissing Cockroaches are ground dwelling creatures native to the tropical island of Madagascar. These unique wingless cockroaches produce hissing sounds that can be heard up to twelve feet away. The aggressive males have large horn-like bumps protruding behind their head. They use these horns in combat with other males. Females have only small bumps and are not aggressive. Hissing Cockroaches breed readily in captivity.
