PediPaws gently and painlessly files your pet's nails to leave them trim, rounded and smooth with no mess. Now you can easily trim your pet's nails anywhere without the pain caused by traditional nail clippers. The precision emery filing wheel gently removes thin layers without cracking or breaking the nail, in order to leave your pet's paws soft and your home safe from scratches. The unique protective cap allows only the perfect amount of nail to be removed and contains all the filings so there's no mess. Includes one emery filing band (head). Replacements can be purchased seperately. Unit measures 9 1/2" long. Requires two C batteries (not included).

Pros:
is more safe than the reg cutters
Cons:
you can still hurt them by filing it too short to the quick and cause it to bleed if not careful
I really like this product over anything I have ever tried with nail trimming. I also use it on my cockatoo parrot as their nails really get long and sharp, it trims and files at the same time. You do have to hold the sides or top of the nail firmly when placing it inside the hole to prepair for filing I feel to help keep the nail stable and from moving forward and back or side to side... Very Pleased Customer dont forget to have your 2 C batteries on hand though... I think it would be nicer to have an upgraded version for larger dogs, such as faster motor speed. I would recomend this to everyone, as one of my poms toenails tend to grow out right up under her pads which made it hard to clip with reg. nail trimmers and often cut her pad or too close to nail this she didnt flinch or was worried at all....

cost-effective and handy

Pros:
works well; not too noisy; paw-guard is useful
Cons:
motor may not be strong enough for large breed nails; battery operated
We use this once a week after bath and nail-clipping on our medium sized terriers, and it works really well. I don't think we can use rechargeable batteries in it, however. (We use tasty kibbles as treat reinforcements for one dog who doesn't like her nails touched at all, and this has helped somewhat - but that is HER issue, nothing to do with the product itself!)
