Size Weight of Pet Max. Withers Flap Opening Door Rise
Small up to 15 lb. 10" 5 1/4" - 8 3/16" 1 3/4"
Medium up to 40 lb. 14" 8 1/4" - 12 3/16" 1 3/4"
Large up to 100 lb. 20 5/8" 10 1/4" - 16 3/8" 4 1/4"

4 Simple Steps to Select the Right Size Pet Door:

  1. Width: Measure the widest part of your pet, the chest or hips. Add two inches.
  2. Height: Measure your pet from the top of the shoulders to the bottom of the chest or belly, whichever is the tallest part. Add two inches.
  3. Withers: Measure your pet from the top of the shoulders to the floor to determine the rise needed. NOTE: Rise is the height from the floor to the bottom of the flap in the pet door. It is the height the pet must step over to enter or exit the pet door.
  4. Select Size: Based on your pet's width, height and withers, select which door flap opening and rise fits your pets comfort and ease of use.

Best Patio Panel!

Pros:
Easy to install
Cons:
Just like the other reviewer said, there is no need to drill anything into your door. You can just pop this into place and you have a patio door. This is important for renters. I have 3 small to med size dogs so I have the Medium panel and it works like a charm. I have a pcp pipe that fits in behind for security and I have dogs for security :). Great product.

Best option for sliding glass doors

Pros:
No need to damage your door
Cons:
expensive
Getting this panel was the best thing I ever did. I have had sliding glass doors at the last three places I've rented and I just pop this in and viola- dog door! The directions will have you screwing in a latch to your door but you do not need to do this!!!! There is no need for a latch, and to lock the door, just get a pipe cut to size that you wedge behind the door when you leave the house. This way you never need to do anything to your patio door- this is very important for renters like me.
