Denitrification Aquarium Filter Media
Denitrification media is usually designed for the removal of nitrate from an aquarium. Nitrate is the final product of the nitrogen cycle and while nitrate is not toxic, it can affect the ability of corals to have their best color and appearance by degrading the water quality enough to keep them from opening up properly. This media is often used in conjunction with a reactor to maximize its effectiveness at nitrate removal. Denitrate is one of the more commonly sought after materials for the purposes of nitrate removal.
