Keep your cat safe with a Safe Cat Breakaway Collar. In response to cat owners' concerns, the Safe Cat buckle is designed to release when a cat's collar gets caught, allowing it to slip free. The Safe Cat Breakaway collar is made of no-snag material and is adjustable from 8" to 12". Do not use with lead or tie-out.

best cat collar

Pros:
adjustable, breakfree lock, cute colors,
Cons:
I was skeptical at first with this collar because i've found in the past that a lot of collars that have a snap instead of a belt type function fall off too easily when my two cats play together, but these collars are amazing! Super easy for me to take it off of them, but strong enough to when they are rough-housing the collars stay in place. I am definitely a repeat and loyal customer to this brand!

Best cat collar

Pros:
great for cats who go outdoors. These make nice gifts too, I have purchased them for gifts as well.
Cons:
none
The best cat collar ever. I can not find these in stores and was happy that I found it at Petsolutions.com. I always purchase a few extra, they make wonderful gifts.

Best Break-Away ever

Pros:
Instant break-with any resistance
Cons:
Cats who dislike collars can remove from selves with a kick or a scratch
I am actually looking for something a little less break-away as I cannot keep a collar on 2 of my cats because these come off so easily (and if they ever get outside, my hope is someone will see a collar and know the cats are owned). However, I do love, love these collars! They come in kitten sizes, which is hard to find... and I when I have them on a kitten I can be fully comforted knowing a little one won't get stuck on anything. It is the only collar I would dare put on a kitten, or on a cat known to especially dare-devilish or cat-curious.

Safe is Safe

Pros:
Detaches when the kitten gets caught on anything
Cons:
We have had three of these int he past and found one stuck under the hall way door it gave away when the cat tried to crawl under the door when we were replacing the door jam. Never had issues with the cats fur getting caught He is a moderate haired cat now and loves his collar along with his tags.

Pros:
Delivers as it says
Cons:
I have 5 out-door cats. Could no longer find these collars at local pet stores in my area. They work better than any I have tried. They always come off when the cats get in scuffs or around obstacles/fences where they tend to get into at. I always look for the oval snap that says Safe Cat on them. Glad I could find them on-line!

For active cats

Pros:
strong clasp keeps collar from coming off
Cons:
cat hair can get caught in clasp
When my local retailer stopped carrying the Safe Cat collars, I had to use a substitute, and frankly, few collars can stand up to active cats. Any twist or flex in those collars cause them to snap apart too easily. True, the special grooved channel in a Safe Cat collar can catch cat hairr when putting it on, but if you allow a finger of space between the cat and teh collar, it can be done, even with longer-haired cats. I really like how the grooved channel keeps the collar on my active cats under household conditions, but still allows the clasp to snap apart when the cat really needs to escape. One of the better products out there.

Safety Catch

Pros:
Collar is great.
Cons:
The prongs on the latch keep breaking. We have used 2 in the last 3 months. We are very careful putting it on and taking off.
The collar is made well and the colors are vibrant. The only problem is prongs breaking off latch prematurely.

Pros:
Cons:
Safe Cat buckle does not work when it collects cat hair
I went to take the Safe Cat collar off my cat to brush underneath and was unable to open collar at all. I had to cut off collar and still could not open the breakaway clasp as there was cat hair stuck in the groove. If my cat had gotten caught somewhere she would have hanged.

Dangerous collar

Pros:
Cons:
My cats fur got tangled in the catch & it no longer releases. I have had to cut it off of my cat because I was concerned he might strangle himself if he got it caught on anything. My cat has short hair so this should not be an issue. I will be returning to traditional collars with the elastic insert as I think these are safer.
