Great product

Pros:
Great product, value
Cons:
24w is large
The 24w is large but can be somewhat hidden with plants. Is a great precautionary item for any tank! Especially two sided tanks (open sides)with lots of uncontrollable light coming in.

Pros:
Works great
Cons:
Awkwardly long item
Outstanding performance. Have a 185 gallon tank. Put 2 24 watt sterilizers in tank. Took 2 days for water to turn clear. Water has remained crystal clear. One should have these sterilizers anytime one starts up a new tank.

Pros:
VERY EFFECTIVE AND EASY TO INSTALL
Cons:
Limits algae and disease. I am using the 9 watt unit in a 36 gallon bow-front aquarium with excellent results and it takes up little space in the tank. Good quality at a reasonable price. I intend to purchase more units for my other tanks. Pet Solutions customer service is wonderful.

Pros:
Performance and Price are fantastic, easy to install and use
Cons:
Never heard of this brand
Bought the small 9 volt unit for a 20 gallon tank that always was cloudy at best with some green build up in summer-fall. Did black out and water chagne, but never perfect. Didn't have UV before, but for the low price, friends suggested I try it. Easy to set up and running in a few minutes. Next morning - the water was better than I had ever seen. I can see plants and rcoks in the back that I forgot about, and my fish are beautiful ! Best investment that I ever made for my fish.

Pros:
Cost compared to others, ease of use, performance, easy set up.
Cons:
the only con I had was the unit I received did not come with instructions, but luckily could be located at the manufacturers website.
I purchased this as a last ditch effort to remedy the green water in my 55 gallon heavily planted aquarium. We had done everything known to rid green water and no luck. I received my green killing machine on Thursday and today (Saturday) my water is nearly clear. After nearly two months of pea soup green water, I can actually see my plants and fish again. Do not hesitate to purchase one of these if you are experiencing green water.

Pros:
Price, peace of mind, healthy fish
Cons:
Somewhat bulky
I'd read up for a while about using UV sterilizers on freshwater tanks, and finally decided to give it a try after periodic issues with ich, bacterial infections, etc. (Fish are always quarantined, but I'm guessing new plants which hadn't been quarantined were the culprits.) No issues since runnig the 9W unit on a 46G bowfront. Tank is clean and fish are healthy---and that's what matters. Unit is somewhat bulky, but not much more than an in-tank power filter (e.g. Tetra styles). Also agree with the first reviewer about covering the outflow with a mesh cover. Flow is low enough (which is desirable in this case) to allow small fish to otherwise enter it.

Pros:
Works, and awesome price
Cons:
Gotta keep the intake clean
Best purchase I've made for my system since the tanks and fish. Cleared bacteria bloom, and kept my water crystal clear since. Gives me peace of mind about Ich and other pathogens. Great price for unit, and bulb replacement. It slows down when the intake gets gummed up, so I clean the sponge weekly. Also, put a screen over the outlet if you have fish small enough to get into it. I don't see a reason to get a more expensive unit, it's proven itself to me by clearing some problems at first, and by how I haven't had problems since. I have the 24 watt in my sump, which supports 4 display tanks. Had it for just over a year and a half, replaced the bulb after a year (for good measure) still working great.
