AquaticLife T5 2-Lamp Fixtures

We love how it shows off the colors in our fish, and helps our plants grow. We just recently just upgraded to a twin bulb fixture and we love it. The only thing we don't like it that its a little too wide that it prevents us from opening the top all the way to feed them, but we've become use to it so it doesn't bother us anymore. Plus, it looks good.

I could not afford a light with six T-5 bulbs at the time I put my system together. I was able to buy one 2 bulb fixture at a time. Then finally purchased the suspension kit for these fixtures. The fixtures are not to most heavy of duty but they do the job. They come with 2 bulb also. Not all fixtures do. I'm very happy with the look and performance!!

This light was a great upgrade to my planted freshwater tank. Most T5 fixtures are aimed toward saltwater setups with 10000K and actinic bulbs, but this fixture has a freshwater configuration available which made my decision easy. I also like that I could link additional fixtures should I get the urge to add even more light in the future.My previous lighting was a single fluorescent (T8) strip light that sat right on top of the cover. Since this setup (and most T5 fixtures, really) sits a few inches above the tank, there is some light that is reflected off the glass cover. This took some getting used to, but that's going to be the case with most lighting options. Just something to be aware of.The only minor nit that I have is that the instructions said to remove the covering from the acrylic lens cover, though this unit no longer ships with the covering. I confirmed this with the customer service at AquaticLife, and they responded very quickly.

I'm very impressed with this light. The reflectors go from side to side, as opposed to a small reflector just behind the bulb, typical in lower cost fixtures. This light easily is putting out at least 25% more light than my other fixtures.
