Really good skimmer
5/10/2012
Pros:
quiet, hard working, easy to use
Only works on a saltwater tank. But it works well on mine, and takes just a little tinkering and then its off. Remember to tighten it, when you think its on well enough tighten it some more.

Best Skimmer Ever
1/10/2012
I have the 65 gallon skimmer on my 15 gallon reef tank,(I know, small tank for the skimmer), and it works great. It's always pulling out more and more green slime. Thanks to this skimmer my water couldn't be cleaner and my nitrate is at zero ppm!

Average Skimmer
1/10/2012
This skimmer does a pretty good job. It can be a pain in the rear to tune but once you get it tuned in to how you want it then it does really well. Although sometimes when you do a water change it "resets" and its back to tuning again. This skimmer is fairly quite. This skimmer usually always has skimmate in the collection cup within 24-48hrs of it being empty and is a working horse.

Good Buy
8/9/2011
Pros:
Easy to Use, Effective, Good Value, Durable
Cons:
It's large, Needs Modding
I have to say this skimmer is really nice it works well and is a great purchase for the price. The only issues I had was It's large, bulky, and needs to be modded a little. The bubble trap is rather clumsy, and if you have an acrylic tank the unit will have to be turned a little sideways as the in and out pipes are a bit long.

mediocre skimmer, but cheap
8/4/2011
Cons:
Poor Value, Ineffective
this is not a great skimmer, but it's one of the cheaper ones. it was the first skimmer I used on my 90 gallon FOWLR. It was inconsistent in pulling skimmate. I upgraded several months after I got it. I wouldn't buy another one. get yourself a higher quality used model if you can't afford a higher end new skimmer.

Great gunk extractor!
7/22/2011
Pros:
Effective, Easy to Use
Great gunk extractor! I can really see the advantages to using a protein skimmer. I use the 220g model on a 110g reef w/fish tank, in a sump system. The collector cup is a little hard to thread off and on, but the unit really does a great job.

Cons:
Return tube very close to the collection chanber
This was a good skimmer, the price was good. Only bad thing was the Return tube very close to the collection chanber so it was very hard to tighten. MAKE SURE YOU TIGHTEN IT, THAN GIVE IT ANOTHER GOOD TWIST. took me a long time to get it to fill with the black sludge but it is. My salt tank looks so nice.

Pros:
price, easy setup, funtions well
Cons:
one of pipe connections leak requiring repair
This is my first skimmer and it seems to function well. Cup is full of dark brown liquid every 36 hours. Ajustments are a little tricky at first but once set it works well. Only thing I can complain about is were the intake elbow connects to the reaction chamber leaked and required a repair which was done by myself. Overall this is a really good skimmer for the price
