Aquarium Protein Skimmers

Protein skimmers are used on a saltwater aquarium to remove the dissolved organics waste products produced by the biological functions of fish, corals, and invertebrates. Protein skimmers all function a little differently, but usually use a venturi valve to produce a bubbly froth in the unit. Protein skimmers are so important that mini skimmers have been developed for small nano size aquariums which are often set up as mini reef tanks.
