Penguin Bio Whell 100 Filter

Pros:
3 Stage Filtration, Economical
Cons:
Keep Water Level up to reduce splashing noise
Filters 10 to 20 gallon aquariums, provides mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. Uses size B cartridges which are easy to change. Great price value and easy to use. At some point, users will get that scum buildup inside the filter box, on the frame and tubes. Once every couple months, I recommend removing the bio-wheels and set them aside. Do not rinse or attempt to clean the bio wheels. Remove the strainer tubes, propeller and place them in a warm water. Use a soft brush or bottle brush to clean the parts and inside the filter box. Rinse out and reinstall everything. Do not place the filter box into water.

Bio Wheel 350

Pros:
I love the fact that this filter does biological, chemical & mechanical filtration. Another great thing is that if you have cichlids that dig they distribute the biological filter like in the case of a under-gravel filter.
Cons:
As the wheels age and get heavy with grunge and bacteria they slow down and eventually stop rolling. And then you have to replace them(one at a time) if though the manual says don't.
These filters in my opinion are the best filters on the market hands down! I have had fish for 25 years and I have see a lot of different filters but these have been around for quite a while probably because no one can compete with these filters.

I love my 150B!

Pros:
quiet, good gph rate, space for extra filter media, current not too strong
Cons:
water level has to be kept high so you don't hear splashing noises
I got this filter in a package deal with a Marineland 20 gallon kit. I wasn't expecting much, but this filter is surprising! It is efficient, and the quality of the product is very good. It's easy to assemble. The Bio-wheel inside is pretty cool too, but it can be loud for the first few days of use. It gets quieter when it becomes saturated and beneficial bacteria begin to grow on it. The Rite Size B cartridges are cheap too, I remove the carbon for my liquid fertilizers but the floss and my Purigen bag do a great job of keeping everything clean. Definitely would recommend!

I have the Bio-wheel 350 running on my 37 gallon and it keeps my tank clear. I ordered the 100B for my 10g, since I like the 350 a lot. These are great filters.

Great Filter

Pros:
easy to clean, quiet
Cons:
none
The filter pads can be easily removed and cleaned or replaced. One doesn't have to worry about the beneficial bacteria, because they live on the bio-wheel and are not disturbed by replacing the filter pad. The filter runs very quietly, and I often can only tell it is running by the flow created. I have the 100-B on 10 gallon tanks, and it keeps them spotless.

Pros:
Great price, easy to use
Cons:
loud
I have a 350 on my 29 gallon and am happy with how easy it was to set up and use. It is a little on the loud side but not that bad. I love the fact it cause good surface agitation without causing a huge current. Definitely recommend for those on a budget.

Pros:

I have owned fish for 5 years and have been only using one type of filter. The two 350B filters i have for my 75gal Tropical tank work better tank i would have ever expected. and the 2 on my 75gal saltwater tank work great as well. This is one of the best filters i ever found. I recomend it for a new fish junky. there easy and vary relyable.
