The Cascade Hang-On Aquarium Power Filter offers QUAD filtration with silent and efficient operation. The self-priming intake tube has a built-in extendable stem to allow placement of the intake strainer close to the bottom of most aquariums. Includes an adjustable flow control knob to reduce filtration during feeding times. The QUAD filtration consists of a first stage mechanical polyfilter pad with a built in second stage of activated carbon for chemical filtration to remove toxins, odors and discolorations. Next is a third stage biofiltration internal sponge to remove ammonia and nitrite. The last stage is a unique Bio-Falls system placed in the water return spout to provide additional surface area for the nitrifying bacteria of the bio-filtration. Features a leveling devise attachment to properly position the aquarium filter and keep it stable on your aquarium.

The Cascade 80 does not include a lid or the Bio-Falls Filtration System.

Great filter with low price
good power
little wider than than some other filters
I bought this when setting up my 75 gallon tank, when my older whisper models finally crapped out. Im use to the whisper filters and havent used any other kinds till now. Setting this up I had to squeeze it in on the tank since my whisper ones where thinner they fit with room to spare against the wall, not so with this filter. It was loud at first and thought I would have to return it till I played around with it for a minute and it quieted down. So far its been running good with no issues to report. Im even thinking about buying another one for another 75 tank im getting.

Super easy set-up&clean,turn off while still pluged in,very quiet, and price
Can not be used with salttwater system .
I have the 80 on my over populated 10 gallon and only clean this system once a month and no problems.I have had several different sizes and types of filters over my 28 yrs of my aqua hobby and for the price and ease of use this is an exceptional addition to your freshwater aquarium.

Zeolite in Cartidges, Bio-Falls, everything
My brother has a 150 on his 20 gallon goldfish tank that has three goldfish and a snail. It keeps the water crystal clear and his goldfish happy on healthy. Plus, there are no complaints on noise. I am very surprised because I have always used Aquaclear filters and XP canisters. I was also surprised to see that the cartridges have zeolite as well as carbon in them to really get proper chemical filtration at no extra cost! The Bio-Falls actually work! It is wet/dry and it exchanges gases well too. But make sure you keep the Bio-Falls clean. His goldfish are really appearing colourful and his water is in immaculate condition. This filter is truly a dark horse in the filter world.

This is a great economincal filter system to keep your water clear
You have to change a filter cartridge about once a month
This is an above average filter system at a great price. It's quiet and does the job. This is a three process filtration system that keeps it simple and will NOT take up a lot of time or money to keep it running properly. I have had the cascade300 on my 75 gallon tank for 7 months and I am happy with my water quality.

one water flow
cheap, easy to break plastic
This filter is OK for the money. Not as much of a problem as the Emperor but yet not as good as the Aqua Clear. A middle of road filter but be careful not to bang the plastic very hard or it will break.

Poor Quality
Quit working, Not Effective, Not Durable
The first filter I bought quit working after two weeks.[...] replacement filter and it stop working after one week. The motor on this filter is not durable in the least. Would not recommend this filter to anyone.
