Marineland LED Aquarium Lights have a double bright row of 6K LED Daylight bulbs and a single center row of 60mw Blue LED's. This has a similar light intensity of a twin tube strip light but uses less energy. Marineland LED Double Bright Lights are good for Fish Only marine tanks or Freshwater low light planted tanks (crypts, anubis, java fern etc). It could also be an excellent light for a refugium system but is not intended as a reef lighting system. The LEDs provide better color rendering, and the natural shimmer effect is likes ones found in much more expensive halide light systems. Each LED is rated one watt and produces 80 lumens of output. There are three LED aquarium light models: an 18"L with 9 LEDs, a 24"L with 12 LEDs, a 36"L with 24 LEDs and a 48"L with 36 LEDs. This LED fixture has a very low profile design, about 3/4" Tall and 5" Wide. Both ends of the light have extendable wire leg supports that allow the three fixtures to expand to fit 24", 36", 48" and 60"L tanks, respectively. The legs can also be totally removed so the light can be placed directly on a glass canopy for an even lower profile. This double bright LED light has a single power cord and a single switch that allows either ALL LEDs ON, just the ACTINIC LEDs ON (for simulated moonlight), or OFF. The LEDs are designed to last 17,000 hours to the point where they are 70% as bright as they were when turned on for the first time. Under normal operation, this means over 5 years of lighting your tank before the light should be replaced, saving replacement cost for bulbs of around $340.

Marine Double Bright LED Aquarium Light

Pros:
Bright Lighting, Moonlights are Strong, Low profile.
Cons:
No timer and only one cord, so you cannot add a timer to control moonlights and white lights separately
I have had the Marineland Double Bright on my FOWLER tank for over a year and it works perfectly. I have had no issues whatsoever, just plug it it and start using. I just purchased the Marineland LED Reef Capable for my reef tank and can't wait to get it. I have been in the aquarium hobby for 40+ years (fresh and saltwater) and I definitely recommend these lights.

I would buy it again

Pros:
Transformer is pigtailed w/ standard plug to fit on power strip
Cons:
may not be bright enough for high light plants
It is strong enough to get my corner-hiding sagitaria growing, that my old T5 couldn't. I recommend that you get the same length light strip to match your tank length. Although a 36-inch strip will fit on a 48-inch tank, it just doesn't look good with the wire legs extended that far and the fixture sagging between them.

great light

Pros:
everything
Cons:
I have the 48 inch led light on my 140 gallon 6ft long. I personally think its lights up the tank really good. The dark spots people keep talking about are minimal, not bad at all. I actually think it lakes it look more natural. Which i like alot. Oh and i mounted the light to my canopy. I already knew it was to small to set on tank. Going to buy another one for my 80 gallon tall tank. Really like light and the blue looks really good. Dont understand why people want the blue to be brighter i think it looks really good.

Great aquarium light!

Pros:
Very bright, excellent spectrum, wide throw
Cons:
moon lights on switch and not timerable but no big deal
These lights are great! I bought the 48" model and love it. I have a 60" wide tank and the light fills the whole tank. It is just as bright as the compact florescent lights I used to have but a little less yellow(more white). The shimmer effect is awesome. And one of the best points is the light spectrum does not allow algae to grow. Bottom line these lights are great for anyone who want bright color fish(because fish do respond to light) and minimal algae (non visible but enough to feed your pleco or other algae eater). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Best Lights Ever!

Pros:
Easy to Use, Good Value, Safe
Cons:
I bought (2) 18"-22" LED lights to go over my existing glass covers. They fit perfect. You have the option of either removing the adjusting arms so they are flush against the glass, or leaving them on to give the tank a cool look. I left mine on. The moon light feature at night is awesome too! My rock has a soft blue moon glow at night. Great lights! Best price on the net right now!

Really bright. Love the shimmer effect

Pros:
Easy to Use, Durable
Cons:
Expensive, Only one spectrum
The product has one button with two numbers. One for daylight and one for nightlight. The brightness of the lighting is superb. My aquarium is about 30x30 and it provides enough lighting for the whole tank. Also, the underwater shimmer effect that is seen under oceans is realistic. It's really pleasing to the eye. The only thing about this is that it's kind of pricey and that the whole assembly will eventually need to be replaced one the bulbs burn out.

Will be buying one for my 72 bow front as soon as the cabinet is made. Currently the light replaced an old tube light on my 55 gal tank and the lighting is great. Best price was on this website...
