Quality Filter

Pros:
Long lasting and effective
Cons:
none
I've had two of these filters in the last 25 years. They last 12+ years of 24 x 7 use with no real maintenance other than cleaning. Very effective when combined with filter media like Chemi-Pure. Excellent results in both salt and freshwater tanks. Highly recommended!

Amazing Product. Use on all 3 of my tanks!

Pros:
Easy to clean, powerful, high quality
Cons:
I absolutely love these filters. I have never had a single issue with them and I own three 350s. Two of my Magnum 350s are over 15 years old and I'm STILL using them on my 75 gallon and they are working perfectly (Granted, I'm pretty diligent about cleaning them when they need it). I'm very happy with these filters and Marineland. Would highly recommend. Also, they are pretty quiet and I've never had a leak on any of them. How can you beat that?

Excellent

Pros:
Easiest canister filter to use
Cons:
Not for permanent use
This Magnum 350 is an excellent quick cleanup tool. It is perfect for that quick flush to remove any and all waste materials just hanging around your tank which can cause foul ups of your water. This filter works great for temporary, short usage. I have seen several magnets on the impeller heat up and swell causing plastic housing to warp and melt. Another issue is if a piece of gravel gets inside with impeller, when flushing gravel in the tank, it can cause the impeller to jam and overheat and swell also.

Easy to use power

Pros:
Well made, easy to maintain, powerful
Cons:
Disconnects for tubes could work easier
Very quiet, powerful filter. Intake and return inside tank are okay looking and work well. Needs to have tank at normal stand height or higher as it depends on a siphon to feed it. That's it -- super easy to use and maintain.

great filter for the price

Pros:
Easy to Use, Good Value, Effective
Cons:
this filter really works well and my water is crystal clear. the only complaint I have is that it can be a little tricky to remove the trapped air. usually it will remove the air on its own but may take a little time.

Great Filter for Turtles

Pros:
Easy to Use, Safe, Effective, Good Value, Durable
Cons:
I bought this filter for my turtle tank to replace the two hang on filters I was currently using. Not only does this filter do the job of two filters and makes more room in the tank, it is quieter. I was able to position the discharge hose under the water and my turtles can't move it like the other filters. The only complaint is having to fill the canister full enough that it doesn't trap air inside which makes it noisy. But overall, an excellent filter.

Long Lasting

Pros:
Durable
Cons:
Hard to bleed all the air
This has lasted over 7 years of 24/7 use for my freshwater tank and the parts are easy to aquire still. would not buy anything else. The Con is not realy a con, I use a lot of air in my powerheads and that in turn creates the air in the filter.

Great Filter

Pros:
Durable, Safe, Good Value
Cons:
Difficult to Use
I bought this filter for my 55 gallon freshwater tank to replace a hang on filter. It's very durable, I've had this filter for at least 2 years and haven't had to replace a part yet. Compared to all the plumbing, maintenance, and initial expense for my 75 gallon drilled tank, this was really a good value and less work. My only complaint is that initially the canister filter was difficult to prime. I had to learn not to leave any air bubbles in the canister or lines, which keeps it from priming, as well as, causes the filter to be noisy. A feature I love are the quick disconnects. I found that I can connect my gravel vac to the filter using another quick disconnect and really clean my gravel.

stiff tubing, carbon can get in the prop
Great filter system to use in a med size tank. I have a 75gal cichlid tank and it performs very well.
