Going for immortality

Pros:
Grain free, best ingredients, large bags, vacuum packed, small bag resealable
Cons:
Only small bag has a resealable top
I searched long and hard for the best dog food when I got my first dog, and I continually compare today. Endless comparisons of grain free food always show Orijen with the best quality and quantity of high grade ingredients compared to all other brands, even Arcana. Which means it's higher in protein than any brand out there that I've seen. I love my dogs and am doing everything I can to ensure they live the longest lives possible and a diet with strictly Orijen dog food and 1 dental treat a day, is where that starts. My dogs only need baths when they've gotten debris on them because their coats are so shiny and healthy; never oily, smelly or tacky like most dog coats. To address an earlier review, they do have excess tartar, but because they've never had any other food, so I'm guessing that's just because they're a small breed and not because of the food. Just brush your dogs' teeth everyday and get them scaled once a year, not under anesthesia if possible. Would recommend this food to any dog, but it is very high in protein and you must keep your dog active to burn the calories. Which as a good dog owner, looking up food information, you should be doing anyway; this food is the ultimate tool any owner should have. Buying any other food, especially low grade grain food just seems like neglect at this point. Way to start researching! It's your responsibility to ensure those that depend on you have the best, be a good human to the animals that give you everything they have and whose lives revolve around you. Research everything, know what you're giving them and be responsible! Or don't have animals, you're not worthy. If you just want an occasional puppy fix, volunteer at your local shelter.

Appropriate to the species

Pros:
you get for what you pay
Cons:
no Cons
I have to different Breeds one Jack Russel and 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. This dog food is the best food ever. We never had any problems. The output is almost nothing, because the dog can use everything from the food. And if anyone say a Cons would be the price, he really don't appreciate the work to produce such a great food.

My dogs love it

Pros:
it smells good, my dogs's fur became shiny
Cons:
still wondering if there are other cheaper alternative of same quality
my dogs were switched from supermarket brands to Orijen about 1 year ago. They seem to love their food now. Their fur are very shiny. And their poop seems healthier. The only thing (drawback) I noticed was they have more teeth stain (tartar?) than before.

Great food, well tolerated by my Jack Russells. Recommended by a friend and a caring breeder. My dogs all have shiny white coats and lots of energy. (not always good.) :)

English Bulldog loves Orijen.

Pros:
Proper nutrition, uses only fresh ingredients, grain free, and my 3 month old puppy loves this food.
Cons:
Larger bags don't have a resealable top.
Our English Bulldog puppy started her solid food diet with Orijen. The breeder, an AKC, BCA certified breeder that raises all their puppies as family members, feeds Orijen to all their bitches and studs as well. All have Championship bloodlines. Their dogs grow up healthy using Orijen food and expert veterinary care. We have a happy, healthy, well adjusted, girl that loves her meals, gets excellent checkup reports, and has fun every day. A loving home, good food, and a knowledgeable vet provide assurance that she will continue to grow and thrive. We only want the best for our little girl. Orijen gets our vote.

dogs love it, but be warned: it smells strong!

Pros:
good nutriton; dogs adore it; it's nice they offer sample size
Cons:
strong fishy smell
Not being familiar with the product, we ordered the sample bag, and used the kibble as training treats. This worked very well with our two terrier mix pound puppies, although we found the smell a bit strong for us.
