This fish is native to West Africa, specifically to the Congo River and smaller rivers in the area. Ideal temperature to house this fish is the 76 to 80 degree range. It will readily accept flake, pellet, and frozen foods. Males develop a hump on their head where females lack the hump, but this does not happen until the fish is mature.
