Like many Tangs, this fish will exhibit very different coloration from juvenile to adult, and will also exhibit regional differences. Generally the juvenile will exhibit a yellow-gold to tan background with multiple stiping and spotting. As an adult the background will range from burgundy to a bluish hue with orange stripes. It will eat most algae based diets and generally will not bother corals. It is fairly aggressive and should be kept singly to avoid constant harassment.
