Blue Panaque Plecostomus
The Blue Panaque Plecostomus (Ancistrinae sp.) originates in Venezuela, and is one of the smaller Plecostomus varieties, making it well suited for the aquatic hobby. This fish will attain an approximate maximum adult size of 4 inches and does best fairly low PH water of 6.0 to 7.2 but can adapt to a higher PH if given time. This fish is found in the Loricarid listings as L-239. This fish is an omnivore, not an herbivore, so it is important to feed it a variety of foods including meaty foods and will do well in the home aquarium if offered frozen as well as dry. The pectoral fins of Plecostomus have small bristles and thickened first rays that can lead to issues with catching the fish via net. It is best when attempting to catch this fish to use a container of some type rather than netting which could possibly damage the fish. Once the fish has settled comfortably into an aquarium it will have a purple/brown body with light blue fins
Approximate arrival size for Blue Panaque Plecostomus: 2-3".
