Bleeding Heart Tetra
A favorite with Tetra lovers, Bleeding Heart Tetra is one of the most loved and one of the larger members of the Tetra family. With a maximum size of about 3 inches, this fish is noteworthy for the pastel mixtures of white, red, and pink throughout its body and fins, but its central feature is the bright red spot located near the "heart" of the fish. There is typically some black striping on the dorsal fin. With males having slightly longer fins and somewhat brighter colors, the Bleeding Heart tetra does fine singly, in pairs, trios, and schools. Multiples of this fish swimming together is an alluring sight. Hyphessobrycon rubrostigma is also known as Tetra Perez. With a proper mix of dried and live foods, it should surely always be recognized as a beauty.
