In the wild this is a nocturnal fish, often either solitary or in small groups. It prefers meaty foods and will accept Krill, Mysis, Clam and other Seaffods. Do not be surprised if you find it swimming upside down, especially if there is a large enough cave for the Soldierfish to swim through.
