Biscuit Starfish: Aust.
Biscuit Starfish, Tosia queenslandensis, is an attractive starfish that appears as if it was tiled. Reef safe to all except some sponges and only the smallest of invertebrates, this stubby-armed starfish is composed of a number of scales or tiles. The color of these tiles is slightly different than the “grout” or area between the tiles. It is strongly recommended that this animal be kept only in reef aquariums with plenty of Live Rock on which it can graze. Originating from Southern and Southeast Australia, it comes from water temperatures around 73º F.
Notes: Starfish are extremely sensitive to sudden changes in water parameters and to the presence of copper. Extra care and time should be taken whenever acclimating this animal.
