Betta (Male)
Betta, Betta splendens, is one of the most popular aquarium fishes. The Betta is known as the Siamese Fighting Fish because two males, if placed together, will normally fight until one is damaged or dead. This activity is considered a sport in Thailand, one of its countries of origin. Naturally residing in rice paddies and small puddles, the Betta requires little water. Its labyrinth organ helps it to breathe surface air. Without access to the water's surface, the Betta will suffocate. Only the most select Bettas are shipped by PetSolutions and, though this fish is available in numerous variations of red, blue, peach, and white, there are a nearly infinite combination of adaptations available. Please specify the primary color preference of the fish you desire when ordering and you will receive the most stunning of specimens available fitting your description.
