Atlantic Blue Tang
Found in the tropical Atlantic, the Acanthurus coeruleus is known in the hobby under two common names. As a juvenile it is sometimes called the Atlantic Yellow Tang, but as an adult, it is the Atlantic Blue Tang. As may be guessed by the names, it turns from a yellow to blue body color as it matures. It can grow to 9 inches in length in the wild, thus should given plenty of room to swim. Its diet should have vegetable based prepared foods and fresh zucchini, broccoli and spirulina. When properly fed, it is a "reef safe" fish, though on rare occasions, certain specimens may bother Large Polyp Stony Corals if underfed. This is a hardy fish that adapts readily to the home aquarium.
