Asfur Angel
One of the sought-after Red Sea Angelfish, the Pomacanthus asfur can grow to 16 inches in length and therefore should be kept in an aquarium of at least 125 gallons. Also known by the common name, Arabian Angelfish, this is one of the more shy Angelfish and should be provided with plenty of "bolt-holes" to feel secure. Rather hardy, it adapts to a varied diet of vegetable and meaty prepared foods, fresh seafood and specialty "angel formulas". Juveniles show a central yellow band with white striping on either side with a bluish background. Adults lose the white bands and the yellow band intensifies in color. Best kept singly, this is not a "reef safe" fish, though it will usually leave small-polyped stony corals alone. Adults can become aggressive, especially towards other Angelfish.
