Arc Eye Hawkfish
Found in the Indo-Pacific, the Paracirrhites arcatus is better known as the Arc-Eye Hawkfish. Like most Hawkfish, it prefers to perch on suitable rocks/corals and dive after food. While safe for corals, it will eat ornamental shrimps, crabs and some smaller, elongated fish, so might be better suited for a fish only style aquarium. It obtains a length of 5-6 inches and can be housed in an aquarium of at least 30 gallons. Quarrelsome, it is best to be kept singly and with larger fish. It is also best to introduce this Hawkfish last into the aquarium. Very hardy, it will adapt to a prepared diet of meaty based foods and small live feeder fish.
