Milk Snakes are well known for their tail rattling behaviors and their ability to consume Rattlesnakes. These snakes are very colorful and have become one of the most commonly kept snakes in captivity. Milk Snakes are incredible escape artists which prefer to spend most of their time hiding, so it is absolutely critical that the habitat be very secure and contain plenty of hiding places. Milk snakes do not care for bright light, so if the temperature of the habitat can be properly maintained without the use of a heat lamp which produces bright light that would be ideal.
