Alveopora Coral
Alveopora, Alveopora Allingi, is Large Polyp Stony Coral whose beauty is increased by the use of actinic lighting. Its 12-tentacled polyps are commonly a place of frolic and of refuge for Ocellaris Clownfish when a host anemone is not present. Low aquarium placement with low-to-medium water flow, and a medium light level is sufficient for this fairly delicate Large Polyp Stony Coral. Its tentacles can extend to a distance approximately equal to the diameter of the corals main body. Because of this, it must be placed a safe distance from other corals. Requiring a medium water flow, it is perfectly content resting on the bottom of the home aquarium. As with most other members of Large Polyp Stonys, maintaining a proper calcium level is an important key to successful development. It will definitely benefit from occasional target feedings of plankton or brine shrimp.
